treatment for video1
After 2 tutorials with Andy we finalize in this treatment. It looks like handrawn with pencil. The reason we changed the treatment is beacause the animation didn't work that good at the first samples of video 1. The character looked too stiff, and the animation genarally too 'clear' and predictable, so we changed the mood to darker with only some spotlights in the scene. This experiment was b&w animation in order to add even darker touch. Finally Andy suggested to try something that more enigmatic with even less details. So the treatment now is this.
What i do step by step is:
1. i make a computer animation 3d scene in 3dsm
2. i put ink paint for overall material. the outlines blue (the colour of the pen) and the shadows red (i will explain later why)and everything else white.
3. I render the scene
4. I make a 3-4 frame sequence of handrawn scanned lines as loop in after effects.
5. i put on top the animated toon rendered movie, in after effects
6. Then I remove the red shadows with a keying effect. Now wherever used to be red (shadows) we will see the loop of animated lines of the layer behind.
7. i put on top a scanned image of a note book with 60% opacity
8.voila! is ready
